If you’ve searched for horse riding in Valencia you’ve probably found plenty of vague pages and very few actual numbers: no prices, unexplained “levels” and locations you can’t quite place on a map. This guide fixes that, with real figures.
What a riding tour actually is
It isn’t a riding lesson. On a horse riding tour you won’t learn to jump or school a horse in an arena: you head out into the countryside at walking pace, with a guide in front and the horse doing the work. That’s exactly why it works so well for people who have never ridden before.
The distinction matters, because it changes what you need: no experience, no technical clothing, no particular fitness level.
Prices: what a horse riding tour in Valencia costs

All three include a guide for the whole route, an approved helmet and the rest of the gear. No extras, no hidden supplements.
Which length: 1, 2 or 3 hours?
- 1 hour — if you’ve never ridden, if you’re with children, or if you just want to try it. It’s the most popular choice and what we recommend for a first time.
- 2 hours — when you want more than a taster. Enough time to gain confidence in the saddle and reach the river.
- 3 hours — the full morning. For anyone who already knows they enjoy it, or who wants the complete countryside plan.
None of them requires previous experience. What changes is time in the saddle, not difficulty.
Where you ride: Valencian countryside, 15 minutes away
Our rides leave from La Cañada, in Paterna, and cross the Vallesa Natural Park: Mediterranean pinewoods, dirt trails, the Túria river and viewpoints over the valley. It’s one of the best-preserved green areas in the Valencia metro area, about 15 minutes by car from the city centre along the CV-35.
You can also come by public transport: Metrovalencia line 2 stops at La Cañada.
Minimum age and conditions
- From age 7. Children ride their own horse, always guided.
- No weight limit.
- No experience needed. Before setting off we cover the basics and check you feel comfortable.
- If it rains, we cancel and reschedule at no cost.
What to bring
Very little: long trousers and closed, comfortable shoes. We provide the helmet and the gear. Bring a cap and sunscreen if it’s sunny. More detail in what to bring on a horseback ride.
When to come
You can ride in Valencia all year round. Autumn and spring are the best seasons: mild temperatures and the countryside at its best. In summer we ride early or late in the evening. We break it down in the best time of year to ride.
